About Our Yogurt

THE PRODUCT

What makes your yogurt different from other plant-based yogurts?

Most plant-based yogurts start from a base they didn't make and work backward from there. We start from scratch — our own coconut milk, real fermentation, real fruit purées. The texture is Greek-style, which means strained and thick enough to stand a spoon in. Most plant-based yogurts skip that step entirely. We don't.

What are the benefits of a long fermentation?

Time develops flavor that shortcuts can't replicate. A longer fermentation produces a more complex, balanced taste — less sharp, more rounded — and builds a live culture profile that reflects the full process. It's also where the texture comes from. You can't rush it.

How many flavors do you make?

Six currently — Vanilla, Mango, Strawberry, Blueberry, Yuzu, and Plain. Two more are in development. Visit our yogurt page to see the full lineup.

What is yuzu?

Yuzu is a citrus fruit grown primarily in East Asia — somewhere between a lemon, a lime, and a grapefruit, but more floral and complex than any of them alone. It works with coconut in a way that's difficult to explain before you taste it. We consider it the best flavor we've ever made.

What makes your vanilla paste special?

Pure Madagascar vanilla bean paste — no gums, no dyes, no extract. Madagascar vanilla is the benchmark of the category for a reason: the climate produces a bean with exceptional floral depth. You taste the difference immediately.

How long does it last after opening?

Seven days after opening, kept refrigerated in its original packaging with the lid intact. Like all live culture products, it's best fresh. Always keep it cold — this is not a shelf-stable product.

Can I use Milk & Patience in recipes?

It works exceptionally well in recipes — smoothies, parfaits, dressings, baked goods, frozen desserts. The thick texture and clean flavor profile make it a direct substitute anywhere dairy yogurt is called for. For ideas, follow us on Instagram.

Where can I find nutritional information?

Full nutritional information is printed on every cup. We'll be adding it to our website soon — in the meantime, the label is the most accurate source.

INGREDIENTS & ALLERGENS

Is Milk & Patience dairy-free?

Completely. There is no dairy of any kind in any Milk & Patience product. Every flavor is made from coconut milk. It's the entire foundation of what we make.

Is it good for people with lactose intolerance?

Yes. Because there is no dairy in our products, there is no lactose. Many of our most loyal customers came to us specifically because of lactose intolerance — and stayed because of the taste.

Does it contain nuts?

No tree nuts. The only major allergen present is coconut, which is classified as a tree nut by the FDA. If you have a coconut allergy, Milk & Patience is not appropriate for you. If your allergy is to other tree nuts — almonds, cashews, walnuts — our products do not contain them.

How much sugar does it contain?

Comparable to or lower than most national yogurt brands in our category. Exact amounts vary by flavor and are printed on every cup. We use real fruit purées rather than concentrated sweeteners, which means the sugar content reflects the fruit itself.

Is Milk & Patience non-GMO?

Yes. Every ingredient in our products is confirmed non-GMO through supplier documentation.

Is Milk & Patience certified vegan or gluten-free?

Our yogurt is made without dairy, gluten, or animal products, and is produced in an SQF-certified facility. Formal third-party certifications are on our roadmap. In the meantime, every ingredient is listed on the label — we'd rather you read it than take our word for it.

Why did you select pea protein?

Pea protein is allergen-friendly, works well with live cultures without disrupting fermentation, and has a neutral enough flavor that it doesn't compete with the yogurt. It adds nutritional value without adding anything you'd notice in the taste.

Why do you make your own coconut milk?

Because the quality of the base determines the quality of everything built on top of it — and no one else is doing it at our level. Making our own coconut milk gives us control from the first step to your fridge. That control shows up in the flavor.

THE BRAND

Who makes Milk & Patience?

Brent and Steph. Every batch runs through a process they developed over eight years — from a home kitchen to co-manufacturing at scale. The recipe hasn't changed. Neither has the standard.

How long have you been making this?

Eight years. The first batch went into the water just over eight years ago. We started at farmers markets, built the product by hand, and scaled to national retail from there. The process we use today is the same one that started it.

What does the name mean?

It's the recipe. Coconut milk and time. That's how yogurt is made when it's made correctly — there are no shortcuts that don't show up in the final product. The name is a reminder of that every time someone reads it.

Why does this yogurt taste better than the others?

...because it's handmade.
